Avant Guardist is uniquely qualified to implement sustainable and energy efficient building systems. We have a history of working closely with Architects, Engineers, and various related trades to implement integrated green systems using a broad range of technologies and products.
pv installation
Avant Gardist is a NABCEP-certified solar photovoltaic panel installer and provides both sytem design and installation services. We are fully qualified to help clients take advantage of the City of Austin's PV rebate program (PDF).

Liquid-applied roof membrane
Avant Gardist has pioneered the use of a liquid-applied plastic roof membrane. This unique product can be roll-applied as a liquid to almost any substrate, eliminating the need for flashing, counter-flashing, flame-down seams or caustic chemicals and adhesives. We offer up to 20-year warranties on our roofing systems.
This system can be used to create walkable roof decks, low-slope flat roofs with no risk of leakage, breathable vapor barriers which seal directly into the roof membrane, green roofs and custom-designed bathtubs and reflecting pools.
Avant Guardist installs spray-applied foam insulation. This product has superior insulation capacity compared to fiberglass batt insulation and provides additional benefits such as mold resistance. Spray-applied foam is water and vapor impermeable and expands to fill wall cavities, completely sealing the wall and preventing air infiltration.

Reflecting pond and rainwater collection system feeding irrigation and evaporative cooling systems
We have experience building complex heating and cooling systems integrating passive solar thermal collection, geothermal heat exchange, and pool-based heat sinks with radiant floors and walls.
These systems outperform conventional forced-air HVAC systems and provide substantial and long-term savings to our clients. Our history of close integration with the project design and engineering process has allowed us to implement these systems with modest up-front costs.
We have experience installing rainwater systems, both integrated with hydronic systems and as standalone sources of water.
